Programs - School
Age
Our eight school age centers are located in
Abington, Quincy, Randolph and Weymouth. Children are encouraged to
grow in self-reliance and self-expression as they enjoy many activities including:
athletics, arts and crafts, table games, drama, cooking and field trips. We
aim to excite children about reading and writing by integrating literacy activities
into each center's daily schedule. Youngsters participate in book clubs, publish
newsletters, and keep journals. Staff work with parents to develop an individual
homework plan, and homework time is a part of each day's schedule.
Through our "Arts Initiative" we bring artists into many of our school age centers to work with small groups of children over a ten-week period, culminating with a performance or exhibition. We designed the "Arts Initiative" to facilitate critical thinking through the arts, helping each participating child develop planning, preparing, practicing, performing, and evaluating skills.
- Our school age centers are open from school dismissal until 6 PM (6:15 PM in Randolph and Abington).
- We offer before school care starting at 7:30 AM in Randolph.
- We are opened 7:30 AM - 6 PM (6:15 in
Randolph and Abington) during school vacations.
- In the summer we operate an eight-week day camp, located at Hale Reservation in Westwood, with after camp sites in Randolph, Milton and Weymouth.
